Whispering Footsteps

•December 13, 2013 • 2 Comments

Two nights ago I was falling asleep and heard someone whisper my name, albeit a little loudly, in my ear. My husband hadn’t said it, but I asked him anyway. He hadn’t said or heard anything of course. He doesn’t even call me by my name so that was no surprise.

Fast forward two days later, my mom tells me she heard footsteps down my hallway and called out to me thinking I had perhaps come home early. She said when there was no answer, she heard them again and nothing. It actually frightened her, and she locked the door to the room she and my baby were in. After some time, she opened the door to nothing and no one.

I don’t know who it is but it seems their energy is getting stronger.

Children and Spirits

Yesterday, my mom mentioned to me that something strange had occurred at my home while she was watching my son. She said that she placed a baby book on the bar in the kitchen, which is across from the freezer. She then took the baby outside for some fresh air and came back in to feed him. She said she placed his food on the counter with him in her arms, turned around, and suddenly he had the book in his hands. It’s hard to explain the kitchen setup, but she found it rather alarming that he was able to reach the book from the angle he was held in her arms. While she was telling me that this all took place, I could sense her confusion at how he got his book in his hands. She even used the word “magical,” which was quite unusual for her to say. I didn’t say much and actually forgot about it for awhile.

Later in the evening, I remembered and told the story to my husband. Halfway through the telling, I suddenly stopped and had a memory of the past flash in my mind. I found myself fumbling over words trying to finish telling the rest of the story while also recalling my memory to my husband, hoping he too would be able to see the connection I was shown. Fortunately, he did. When our older son was also a toddler we had gone to Walmart and with my son in my husband’s arms, somehow he had ended up with a big ball in his hands. At the time, we both became very nervous as we presumed someone in the store had given it to him without us seeing, though we were admittedly unsure of how it could’ve happened as I was behind him while he was carrying him. Anyhow, we had left the store feeling very uneasy of potential strangers who gave kids things in that manner.

Now though, I believe that this memory flashed in my mind for a reason at the exact moment that I was telling him about my mom’s experience with our youngest. Who put the ball and book in our sons’ hands and why? are questions that remain to be answered. My father-in-law had not passed when the ball incident occurred but mine had, and now they are both passed. Of course, there could be a number of other explanations. What they are though remains to be seen.

Day of the Dead

•November 2, 2013 • 2 Comments

Today is Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead. It is about honoring and remembering those who have passed on. Many cultures believe the spirits of the deceased come back today; therefore, feasts and festivities are planned at the graves of these loved ones. Making their favorite foods and even sleeping somewhere else so these loved ones can have comfort in your own bed is something I’ve read about being done as well. In our case, our family plans to visit our loved ones’ cemeteries and make small altars of pictures of them complete with calacas while we eat pan de muerto and tell stories about that individual. For me, I appreciate the time that is taken to honor these souls but always know these spirits are here every day, not just today and not necessarily at the cemetery lol. Still, it is a nice way to celebrate them. Whatever your beliefs are, spend some time today in remembrance of those loved ones who have passed. They will certainly be pleased.

A Wedding Date…Again

•October 29, 2013 • 1 Comment

Last night I had a dream that my husband and I were arranging our wedding. Again. We even had both kids already, yet we were planning a new wedding date. It was surreal. While we were attempting to book the date, we were speaking with an older couple at the chapel where we were to marry. Somehow my husband had left and the older lady mentioned to me to make sure I book it before June 10th if I wanted good luck to which I replied I already knew and was looking at Saturday the 6th but it would be a tight squeeze budget wise. I have no idea what that meant but she seemed to understand and commented on how men always complain about money, and we both laughed. My husband came back in the dream and commented on how odd it was to be planning this when we are already married so he said we could probably just renew our vows. I agreed. I remember the weather being cloudy and slightly fresh but beautiful. I remember a body of water being nearby and possibly a lighthouse. Very strange dream but pleasant as well. Not sure what to make of it.

Edited to add that I later remembered that I had called on my dream angel guide to bring me pleasant dreams the night I dreamt this. This is an exciting revelation for me to realize. 🙂

Spook is in the Air

•October 28, 2013 • 4 Comments

Given the season we are in and the fact that every show on television is about ghosts and goblins, it is quite appropriate that the chill in the air isn’t necessarily coming from the weather. For those of us who don’t need the reason to be the season, it’s still an interesting time to revel in others who take more time to notice the paranormal and supernatural. So to all those who celebrate this week’s events, I say surround yourselves in white light and love as the spirits are out as always but are given more energy than you may realize at this time. Enjoy and be safe!

Today at work, a picture of my son fell forward on my desk for no obvious reason. I had some thoughts about this but was quite busy so after setting it back up, I forgot about it. Hours later, I remembered and decided to text my husband and I mentioned the occurrence. Immediately after doing so, I stared at my son’s picture and fell in a kind of trance for about ten seconds. I immediately felt uneasy and thought perhaps it was due to the picture of him having fallen earlier. I looked back at my phone to see if my husband had responded and, at that moment, my phone began ringing. It showed that it was from my son’s school nurse. I answered it and found out my son had hurt his hand at school but thankfully was ok now. This shared vibration was very much like another I have posted about when I had a visual image stamp itself in my mind regarding him in the past. After speaking to him and easing my concern, I immediately felt nauseous. I am still amazed at how powerful our connection is, but I am equally grateful for it.

More of the same?

A couple of posts back I mentioned how an occurrence took place in my office that was essentially a repeat from years back with another worker a few doors down from me. Amazedly, a new tidbit of information was revealed when another coworker mentioned how he thought I was the old employee returning but with a new last name. I was confused and asked for clarification. He proceeded to laugh and say that when he passed by my office, my first day here, that he noticed the same first name as the former employee on my office door but with a different last name, so he assumed she was returning after a marriage or something. This threw me off as my name (Mia) is quite uncommon in these parts, at least for someone my age. Lately, it seems to be somewhat more popular among newly named baby girls lol. Anyway, I had already found it interesting that the office I’m in was also formerly used as a studio instead of an office, even prior to the last Mia here, and that is something I had enjoyed as a hobby in the past as well. I remember feeling a little surprised with that fact. And now to hear that another similarity exists, and such an unusual one, with my name and the last person in this office was just too much of a “coincidence.” Where am I going with this?? I honestly have no idea but if I’ve learned anything, it’s that there are no coincidences.

Another Strange Doctor Dream

•September 28, 2013 • 11 Comments

Some of you may remember a dream I wrote about awhile back where I was in a waiting room at a doctor’s office with my father-in-law who has passed. The next week I was diagnosed with Lupus. Well, I had another dream somewhat similar. I dreamt that I had gone to the eye doctor for a routine visit and later received a call that I needed to go back in to discuss some of my results. I remember in the dream not thinking anything of this and then I went to the doctor only to have them explain that some dark spots came out on a scan that were suspicious of a serious condition. In this dream, the eye doctor was very concerned and decided to have me redo this scan to check further. Inevitably it came out that I did, in fact, have this condition. I was told that I would go blind within 6 months to two years. Weird right? I remember trying to keep things in perspective and focus on the fact that I would still have my whole life ahead of me, but then it hit me that I would not be able to actually see my two sons grow past a certain age, and I became hysterical. I remember crying on the phone as I told my husband. I guess I had not thought it would be anything serious so I had gone to the appointment alone. Anyway, when I awoke I was still crying.

A strange thing is that I remembered the name of the condition when I awoke: macular degeneration. I thought it was some kind of fake name, but then I felt compelled to look it up and saw that it’s an actual condition. This makes me a little nervous. I shared the dream with my mom who says she has mentioned this condition to me in the past, so perhaps this is where I heard it but I can’t clearly recall. I honestly felt that it was a fictional term in the dream. Ugh so unsettling! Thoughts??

Spirits at Work

•September 28, 2013 • 5 Comments

At my new job, which is in an extremely old building, I heard a few ghost stories that all stemmed back to the original lady for whom the building was named. I had felt a very strong negative energy only a few days after having started there when entering a restroom and walked back out never to go in again. I had only spoken of this to my husband until a few coworkers told some of their own experiences over lunch one day.

Today, I experienced my own paranormal event. Someone at work was reading aloud from a book she was quoting when she suddenly yelled out “OUCH! That hurt!”mid-sentence. She grabbed at her hair and looked around to see who had pulled her hair. No one had and no one was close enough to her to do so.

Today then became the the first time she heard the same story I had heard previously from coworkers. Apparently, a couple years back someone had pulled a coworker’s hair when she was alone in her office.

It was essentially the same exact story that took place all over again. The only difference was that today’s occurrence happened with several people around, including myself, and it happened in my office, which is 4 doors down from the original incident.

I wonder if it was a prankster spirit or if it was something more. I certainly didn’t get a bad vibe afterward though, which was a relief.

Do Spirits Lurk in Safe Places?

•September 25, 2013 • 13 Comments

Yesterday, I had the humidifier on for my little one who has a cold. It’s been running for the better of two days. He likes leaning over the side of the crib to try to grab the “smoke.” As I stood there next to the crib, which is by the bedroom door, I saw something move or glide in the hall. I felt it was some type of spirit but also later thought it possible that the smoke may have deceived my eyes. Still, it got me thinking. Spirits are known to reveal themselves through various energies such as electricity, so isn’t it possible that they could also use something like “smoke” to hide in or better yet reveal themselves in a subtle way?
